Big Dipper
4 of us, Gurpal, Heather, David and myself, set off at 8am on Sunday in Shiplake for the Big Dipper - Gurpal told us there were 4 big hills, and I wasn't expecting too hard a ride...but my goodness, it was hilly! Strava reckoned there were 8 category 4 climbs...http://app.strava.com/rides/7177691We were lucky with the weather until about 3pm when the heavens opened and soaked us for the last 10 miles of so of the ride (I think thats the same shower that cancelled the 25 mile TT).Unfortunately Gurpal wasn't feeling good, and we lost him early on - although looking at the website he managed to soldier on and finish...which is amazing as in was a tough ride. No prizes for getting round quickly - it took us 7 hours with an average speed of 13.5mph - although I came first in my class (should I admit here that I was the only 40+lady riding...?).This picture was taken near the end...and we are still smilinghttp://gallery.sussexsportphotography.com/a.tlx?k=3i5zhcy&pictureid=1823... It was a well organised ride and despite being tough I really enjoyed it....
